Kate Gambler is an OC within the Outlast 2 Universe. Depending on the fanfic,

she is either a side character that joins Blake in his attempt to find his wife(fanfic hasn't come out, yet) or a

perverted antagonist.

Introduction

Kate Gambler is a an antagonist within the fanfictions "Desire for the Devil's Seed"

"Desire for the Devil's Seed: ReVamped" and the secondary anti-villan in the upcoming fanfiction "The Gambler Type".

She also plays as the main character in the upcoming comic "A Gambler's Beginning".



Description/Appearance

Kate is often depicted bare naked(with body hair of course) and is littered in scars from the Heretic's blood orgies.

that resulted in her physical and mental trauma.

The scar on her right eye is from a previous fight between her and Marta,

her eye had been sliced into, missing her brain by a hair.

Personality

Kate is often stoic, agressive, violent, and has an ill view towards religion. Not much of her

is known within the current fanfics released, but it's shown she's aggressive and resilient

as it's shown within the fanfiction "Desire for the Devil's Seed" both the original and the revamped

verion, she fights off an unnamed religious fanatic. While she looses an arm, she manages

to kill the fanatic, even with her one attached arm.



Background Story/Past

Childhood and Teen Years/Youth

In her childhood, Kate had lived with her family, her twin sister Chloe,
and her parents in a rural, conservative town "DoveWing". She and her family lived together for quite some time. Her family once tooka trip to the city,
despite her step-mother's objections. During the trip, she met a stranger she found out was deaf.
She learned ASL(American Sign Language) from the girl before being pulled away from her.
She was scolded for talking to the girl along with wondering off. Though, her mother wasn't as harsh on her.
One day after her father left the house for work, her mom had been murdered by an imfamous
serial killer "Eric Gunner" in front of both her and her sister. They were
both tied and bound to a wooden chair and were unable to break free until their father came home to the sight of
his wife's killer, his wife's body lying on the ground and his two daughters tied to a chair. He was knocked out before
he had a chance to respond to the situation.

Time went by and the wounds were still fresh. Despite this, their father remarried and was welcomed into the
family quickly to "keep up appearances". Kate had an undeniable disdain toward her step-mother as she argued
hanging out with Travis was "asking for trouble". Her father took her step-mom's side. She had shared
a horror movie she gotten from one of the stores she visited in the city with Travis, igniting his love for gore.
She was clueless to how he felt about her. He almost told her only for her step-mom to burst into Travis' home and snatch
Kate away before he had any chance of confessing his love for her. Between the fall out and the reputation of being a
single mother(despite the circumstances), Travis' mother decided to move away with Travis. Time went by and a man Kate
never seen before caught her eye. She became infactuated with him almost immediately. She learns her name is Xavier
DoveWing and he is the local priest's adoptive son(something he "was supposed to keep a secret").

One year into the relationship, despite the age gap(around this time,
she was 14 he was 17). He managed to "convince" her to sleep with him, him being her first time, but leaving her with
an "empty" feeling. She talked to her friend Jill about the issue. She talked to them about it only for
the topic to be dismissed. She was then asked about lesbianism and if it was right
to feel anything about it. She tries a few things with them only to be left with a silence that spoke loudly.
They were both unaware of Xavier listening into the conversation from outside. Rumor spread that she was a
"Harlot seducing men and women alike", which causes a chain reaction. Jill had stopped talking to her, and her
father began to hate her for "giving our family a bad name". Chloe was the only one that come to her aid only to
to shut down by their step-mom(of course with their father backing her up).

Tensions began to rise when word got out that her step-mother was cheating, earning her a harsh slap.
She punches her pack, knocking her to the floor. Seeing father's disappointed face, she lost any hope in
having a decent relationship with her father. She waited until nightfall to run away, leaving Chloe behind.


Temple Gate

She found her way to Temple Gate to encounter some religious fanatics. They cornered her only to be saved in
the last moment by a group of Heretics. She's taken in, being given the idea she was rescued only to realize
she's being annointed into the cult. She's assaulted like the remaining women within the blood orgies
she's involuntarily partakes in, leaving her bleeding, bruised and scratched up. Hunter reaches
out to her to be shoved away from a vomiting Kate and he comes back to her trying to
communicate for her to realize he's mute after he writes in some mud with his finger that reads "Can't speak with
my mouth". She suggests teaching him ASL. Not being able to teach enough to communicate, she quits until she finds
a worn out ASL book during a mission. She brings it ba. Months go by and she is completely annoited, her shoulder etched
with a hot sharp knife, giving her the Heretic's insignia. Years passed and Kate develops a "loving"relationship with
Hunter. One day during a fight, Hunter steps in the way to be stabbed in the chest. His death left her heartbroken.


Desire for the Devil's Seed

In Desire for the Devil's Seed(Whether the original or the revamped version). Her first appearance in

within the first chapter, Blake finds Kate revealing her eating a severed human limb covered in blood.

She turns to see Blake or as she refers to as "The Father" and proceeds to pounce on him and tries to

unbuckle his belt, despite Blakes protest only for Blake to kick her off of him.

She chased him through the forest to lose him. The blood orgy had been interrupted by an ambush of the church

fanatics. She attacks Val, expressing she had been betrayed.



Desire for the Devil's Seed: Kate's Journal

In the original fanfiction "Desire for the Devil's Seed", Blake finds an old journal with Kate's name written on it.

He reads through the journal entries that talk about her "love" being her deceased lover, "Hunter" as the journal mentions.

He asks Kate later on about what happened to her lover to find out he was killed. He reads

one of the other journal entries to find out the other Heretics have 'done things to her', implying

Kate has gone through a considerable amount of abuse years prior to Blake being in the village.

In the journal, it's implied she may have developed Stockholm Syndrome as

it's possible the repeated traumatic experience slowly chipped away at her hope,

especially given it's heavily implied getting out of Temple Gate is impossible.



Desire for the Devil's Seed: ReVamped: Kate's Journal

In the remake/revamped version, the journal is not explored as much, though it's hinted

Kate has written some valuable information about the village and what took place.

An employee working for Pauline Glick, Vick Futterman voices his concern about missing any

important information to an unnamed colleague, only to be brushed off before starting the engine.



Fate/Death

In the original version, Kate shares the same fate as Blake and is put through various experiments.

In the ReVamped version, she dies either from blood loss from her stump where

her arm used to be or from any possible illnesses or infections

she's sutained throughout her time in Temple Gate
